In Kilmarnock, there is now a solution Kilmarnock Shopmobility offers a range of Scooters, and Manual and Powered Wheelchairs, enabling anyone with a mobility problem the choice between struggling on or using the free equipment on offer.
WHAT IS KILMARNOCK SHOPMOBILITY?
Kilmarnock Shopmobility offers a FREE service to enable easy access to the shopping and leisure facilities within Kilmarnock Town Centre. The Service has Manual and Powered Wheelchairs and Powered Scooters which are available for loan.
The service is FREE to all registered users and registration could not be simpler. All you need to do is bring to the Shopmobility office some form of identification which shows your address and signature. And you need not worry if you have never used powered equipment before, our experienced staff will give you all the training you will need and advice on the type of equipment you should use.
WHO CAN USE IT?
Shopmobility is open to anyone with either a temporary or permanent mobility problem. You do not need to be registered disabled to use our service.
Companion shopping escorts will be available soon to assist in pushing wheelchairs and help with shopping; however these volunteer escorts must be booked in advance. The service also offers a FREE Holiday Loan Scheme which allows registered users the opportunity to take manual wheelchairs on holiday with them.
